Add a Voice AI Agent to a Carrd Site (2026)
Add the AnveVoice voice agent to Carrd with a hidden Embed element set to Code and placed in Body End. Requires Pro Standard or Plus; publish to test.
How to add AnveVoice to a Carrd site
In Carrd add an Embed element, set Type to Code, set Style to Hidden with Body End placement, paste the AnveVoice tag and publish. Carrd's documentation says the Embed element needs a Pro Standard plan or higher. Steps checked against the official documentation on 2026-10-14.
At a glance
- Where the code goes: Add Element, Embed, Type Code, Style Hidden, Body End
- Plan limit: Carrd's docs: Pro Standard or higher; Pro Lite does not list embeds
- Coding needed: None
- Goes live: Embeds show nothing in the builder; publish to see them
Why Carrd is a special case
Carrd builds simple one-page sites, and it has no settings screen with header and footer boxes. Everything goes through elements, including custom code. Carrd's documentation says the Embed element lets you insert custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript practically anywhere on a site, and that using it requires a Pro Standard plan or higher. Carrd's plans page lists custom domains and embeds for Pro Standard and Pro Plus, and lists Pro Lite with Premium URLs but without embeds. So a free Carrd site, and a Pro Lite one, cannot install AnveVoice with this method. If you are on one of those and want a voice agent, you must upgrade, or build the page elsewhere. Get your embed ID at app.anvevoice.app; the AnveVoice Free plan costs $0, with 50,000 tokens a month and no card.
- 1. Copy the tag — Replace YOUR_EMBED_ID with your own ID. Optional: &position=bottom-left, &theme=dark. Code: <script src="https://anvevoice.app/embed.js?embedId=YOUR_EMBED_ID" async></script>
Add the Embed element
- 1. Add an element — In the Carrd editor click Add Element, then choose Embed.
- 2. Set the type — Set Type to Code.
- 3. Paste the tag — Paste the AnveVoice line into the Code field. Carrd accepts plain HTML, CSS in style tags and JavaScript in script tags.
- 4. Label it — Optionally set Label to something like AnveVoice, so you can find the embed later among your elements.
- 5. Choose Hidden — Set Style to Hidden. Inline would output the code exactly where the embed sits; Hidden sends it to the head or body.
- 6. Choose Body End — With Hidden selected pick Body End, which inserts the code just before the closing body tag. Head and Body Top are the other two choices.
- 7. Publish — Publish the site. Carrd states the embed shows no output in the builder and you must publish to see the code work.
Carrd quirks worth knowing
- One embed, whole site. Carrd sites are single pages, and a hidden embed is outside the normal element flow, so you can move it anywhere in the element list, for example to the end, without any visual effect.
- No builder preview. Because the element renders nothing in the editor, you cannot judge it until you publish. Publish to a draft or test address first if you want a safe trial.
- Several sites, several embeds. Each Carrd site is separate, so add the tag to each site where you want the agent, with the right embed ID.
- Free versus paid plan in AnveVoice. The AnveVoice Free plan covers one bot, which is enough for one Carrd site; add more bots on the Growth or Scale plan if you run several.
Use it as a landing page companion
Carrd is popular for link-in-bio pages and small campaign pages. A voice agent suits that kind of page well: visitors who do not want to read can just ask. Remember that AnveVoice answers from the content you give it, so connect your Carrd page URL when you set up the bot, and keep the on-page text accurate. The agent works only in the browser on the page; it does not take phone calls.
Check it works
- 1. Open the published URL — Use a private window so you are not looking at a cached copy.
- 2. Find the button — Look for the round microphone at the bottom-right of the screen.
- 3. Say something — Click it, allow the microphone (the page must be on HTTPS) and ask about your page.
Common problems
- You cannot find Embed: your plan does not include it. Check Pro Standard or Pro Plus.
- Embed added but no button: you have not published, or Style is still Inline and the code is in the wrong place.
- Button missing after a theme or layout change: check the embed is still enabled and not deleted when you rearranged elements.
- Two buttons: two embeds contain the tag; delete one.
