Webflow lets paid sites add a voice agent through Site settings, Custom code, Footer code, and the change goes live only after you publish. How we chose

Webflow users are often designers who hand off to developers, so both groups matter. Custom code in head and body tags is a paid feature, each section accepts up to 50,000 characters, and Webflow's support does not debug third-party code. The shortlist therefore favours tools whose install is a single script line. Voice was weighted first, then how much of the agent you must build. 3. ElevenLabs Agents: premium voices and client tools

ElevenLabs gives you a drop-in widget plus client tools that run in the browser and can trigger UI events or DOM changes. For Webflow that means a developer can make the agent scroll to a section or open a modal, though that is code they write rather than a built-in feature. The Free plan includes 15 call minutes; Starter is $6 a month, Pro $99 for 1,238 minutes (checked 2026-10-14). Limitation: speech and language-model usage are billed separately from the plan minutes.

4. Retell AI: voice agents that also answer the phone

Retell lets you build an agent once and expose it by phone number, the Web SDK or an embeddable website widget. It is a fit when your Webflow site is the front of a business that also takes calls. Pay-as-you-go from $0.07 a minute with $10 free credit; it does not bill failed calls and bills to the second (2026-10-14). Limitation: no free plan, and the pricing page has small inconsistencies on phone number fees.

5. Botpress: builder with a Webflow embedding guide

Botpress lists a CMS guide for Webflow, WordPress and Wix and a React library for deeper control. Webflow specifics

Footer code loads before the closing body tag, which Webflow recommends for scripts. Do not paste html, head or body tags into the boxes, because that breaks the layout. Publish to the domain you test: a script saved but published only to the webflow.io staging address will not show for visitors on your custom domain. If you want the agent on one template, use the page's own custom code fields rather than Site settings. Keeping analytics in the site box and the voice agent per page is a clean way to separate concerns.

Pick by team shape

A designer working alone should start with the one-line, finished agent. A designer and developer pair can build on Vapi or ElevenLabs and spend on voice quality. A team that already scripts flows for forms may prefer Typebot or Botpress for structure, accepting that there is no browser voice.
