Add a Voice AI Agent to Ghost (2026 Guide)
Add the AnveVoice voice agent to a Ghost publication with Code Injection: site footer for every page, or Post Settings for individual posts and pages.
How to add AnveVoice to a Ghost site
Ghost has a built-in Code Injection screen for exactly this. Paste the AnveVoice tag into Site Footer and it loads on every page of your publication. For a single post or page, use the code injection field in that post's settings instead. Steps checked against the official documentation on 2026-10-14.
At a glance
- Where the code goes: Settings > Advanced > Code Injection > Site Footer (site-wide), or Post Settings for one post or page
- Coding needed: None: paste one line and save
- Plan limits: Ghost's code injection help article lists no plan restriction; the screen exists in the admin of your publication
- Time: About 2 minutes
Before you start
Sign up at app.anvevoice.app (Free plan: $0, 50,000 tokens a month, one bot, no card) and copy your embed ID. You need an Owner, Administrator or similar login to the Ghost admin at yourdomain/ghost. Ghost's help article describes two injection points. Code in the Site Header is output inside the head element; code in the Site Footer is placed before the closing body tag, after the theme's own scripts and styles. Because a voice widget does not have to run early, the footer is the right choice for AnveVoice.
- 1. Copy your install tag — Replace YOUR_EMBED_ID with the ID shown in your AnveVoice dashboard (app.anvevoice.app). Optional URL parameters are &position=bottom-left and &theme=dark. Code: <script src="https://anvevoice.app/embed.js?embedId=YOUR_EMBED_ID" async></script>
Method 1: site-wide with Site Footer
Site-wide injection affects every page, including the home page, tag archives, posts and static pages. Ghost's article warns that site-wide custom CSS and scripts appear on every single page.
- 1. Open the admin — Go to yourdomain/ghost and sign in.
- 2. Go to Code Injection — Open Settings, then Advanced, then Code Injection. Ghost's help article gives this path; some Ghost versions list Code injection directly in the settings sidebar, so use the search box in Settings if you do not see it.
- 3. Paste into Site Footer — Put the AnveVoice tag in the Site Footer box. Leave anything already there, for example analytics, and add yours on a new line.
- 4. Save — Click Save. The change applies to every page of the site without a theme edit or a redeploy.
Method 2: one post or page only
The same help article says you can inject code on individual posts and pages from the Post Settings menu in the editor. This suits a landing page or an event page where you want the assistant but not on the rest of the site. Open the post in the editor, click the settings (gear) icon, find the code injection section and paste the tag into the footer field, then publish or update the post. A site-wide tag and a per-post tag together would load the script twice on that page; AnveVoice ignores a second copy, but one location is cleaner.
Ghost-specific points
Code Injection is applied by the theme: Ghost's theme system outputs injected code through its head and foot helpers. Themes from Ghost's own marketplace include them, but a heavily customised theme that omits the foot helper would drop the Site Footer code, so confirm with the page source if the button is missing. Ghost sites are often fronted by a CDN or reverse proxy. Cached pages continue to show the old markup until the cache expires, so purge it after saving. Members-only pages use the same theme templates, so the footer code is output there as well.
Check that it works
- 1. Open the live site in a private window — This bypasses member sessions and admin previews.
- 2. Click the microphone button — It appears bottom-right by default. Allow the microphone (HTTPS is needed) and ask a question about your content.
- 3. View the source if needed — Search the page source for anvevoice.app/embed.js.
Common problems on Ghost
- Saved but not visible: purge the CDN or hosting cache, then reload in a private window.
- Only some pages show it: you used per-post injection. Move the tag to Site Footer for coverage across the site.
- Shows on the site but not in the editor preview: that is normal; the editor preview does not load the full theme output.
- Tag appears twice in the source: it exists in both Site Footer and a post's injection field. Delete one.
- Moved themes and lost it: injection is stored with the site, so it normally survives a theme switch, but check that the new theme includes the foot helper.
