Add a Voice AI Agent to Wix Studio (2026)
Install the AnveVoice voice agent on a Wix Studio site via dashboard Settings, Custom Code, with Studio plan notes, publish rules and client-site tips.
How to add AnveVoice to a Wix Studio site
Wix Studio sites share the Wix dashboard, so the AnveVoice tag goes into Settings, then Custom Code, set to all pages and Body - end. It only runs after you publish to a connected domain, so test on the live URL and not in the Studio canvas. Steps checked against the official documentation on 2026-10-14.
At a glance
- Where the code goes: Site dashboard, Settings, Custom Code (labelled under Advanced in some dashboards)
- Coding needed: None; no Velo or site code is involved
- Studio requirement: Published site with a connected domain; Studio sites use Studio plans rather than Wix Premium plans
- Testing: Live published URL only; the Studio editor does not run custom code
Why Studio uses the same Custom Code page
Wix Studio is the agency-oriented editor from Wix, but its sites sit on the same dashboard as every other Wix site. Wix's developer documentation says the Custom Code feature, found under Settings, works in all Wix editors, and Studio is one of them. That means you do not need Velo, a custom element or an embed widget for AnveVoice. A single snippet in the dashboard is enough. This matters if you build for clients: the voice agent is a site setting and not a design element, so it will not appear on the canvas, will not change your breakpoints, and cannot be dragged around by someone editing a page later. It is also one of the few things you can install without touching layout.
- 1. Get the embed ID — In app.anvevoice.app create a bot for the client's domain and copy its embed ID. Free plan: $0, 50,000 tokens a month, no card. Code: <script src="https://anvevoice.app/embed.js?embedId=YOUR_EMBED_ID" async></script>
Install it from the dashboard
- 1. Open the dashboard — From the Studio editor use the dashboard link, or open the site from your workspace, then click Settings.
- 2. Open Custom Code — In the Studio dashboard guide Wix lists Custom Code as a tab in the Advanced section; the general help article places it under Development & integrations. Pick whichever your dashboard shows.
- 3. Add the snippet — Click + Add Custom Code, paste the AnveVoice tag and name it clearly, for instance AnveVoice agent, so other people on the project know what it is.
- 4. Select scope — Choose All pages under Add Code to Pages. New pages are included automatically.
- 5. Select placement — Choose Body - end under Place Code in, then click Apply.
- 6. Publish — Publish the site from Studio. Nothing in this panel is live until you do.
Plans and the connected-domain rule
The only prerequisites Wix lists for custom code are a published site and a connected domain. It does not name a plan, but a domain can only be connected on a paid plan, and Wix explains that sites built in Studio take a Studio plan; the regular Wix Premium plans apply to Wix Editor sites only. If you are handing a draft to a client before they pay, plan to install the snippet after the plan and domain are in place. If the client later switches the primary domain, Wix deletes the custom code snippets. Put a reminder in your handover notes to re-add the AnveVoice tag, and keep the embed ID somewhere you can find it.
Things specific to Studio projects
- The canvas will never show it. Wix states that custom code only runs on the published site, and Studio's preview behaves the same way.
- Consent category. Wix files new snippets as Essential, which loads before the cookie banner choice. Open the Code Type tab if you want it treated as Functional instead.
- Security rules changed in December 2025. Wix may block older third-party snippets until providers update them. If another snippet breaks, switch each one off in turn to find it; the AnveVoice line is a single async tag and is easy to rule in or out.
- Handover. Custom code does not appear in the editor, so collaborators can miss it. Name the snippet clearly and list it in your hand-off document.
- Not a Velo job. The Wix Studio editor also has site code and custom elements, but those are for logic that talks to Wix data. A third-party widget does not need them.
Check it works
- 1. Visit the live domain — Use a private window on the published URL, not the Studio preview.
- 2. Look bottom-right — Find the round microphone button, or bottom-left if you added position=bottom-left.
- 3. Try a question — Allow the microphone when asked and ask about a page. Wix domains are HTTPS, which the browser needs for the microphone.
Problems you may hit
- Button missing after publishing: wait a minute, hard-refresh, and confirm the snippet's toggle is on in Custom Code.
- Two buttons: the tag was added twice, perhaps by a colleague. The script ignores a second copy on the same page, but remove the duplicate.
- Only some pages show it: the scope was set to specific pages; edit the snippet and select All pages.
