AnveVoice

Add a Voice AI Agent to Your Wix Site (2026)

Add the AnveVoice voice agent to a Wix site with Settings, Custom Code: where to click, the published-domain rule, consent categories and fixes.

How to add AnveVoice to a Wix website

In your Wix dashboard open Settings, then Custom Code, add the AnveVoice script tag, apply it to all pages and place it at the end of the body. Wix only runs custom code on a published site that has a connected domain, so you will not see the voice button inside the editor. Steps checked against the official documentation on 2026-10-14.

At a glance

  • Where the code goes: Dashboard, Settings, Custom Code, then + Add Custom Code (Body - end)
  • Coding needed: None: paste one line and choose where it loads
  • Wix requirement: Site must be published and have a connected domain, which needs a paid Wix plan
  • Where you see it: Only on the published site, never inside the Wix editor
  • Time: About 2 minutes after you have your embed ID

What you need first

Create a free account at app.anvevoice.app, set up a voice bot for your website and copy its embed ID from the dashboard. The Free plan costs nothing and asks for no card, so you can test before deciding anything. Put your own ID in place of YOUR_EMBED_ID in the line below. On the Wix side, Wix's help centre states two prerequisites for any custom code: the site has to be published, and it has to have a connected domain. Connecting a domain is a paid-plan feature on Wix, so a site that still lives on the free wixsite.com address cannot use Custom Code at all. If the Custom Code page does not let you save, check your plan and domain first.

  • 1. Copy the install tag — Swap in your embed ID. Optional URL parameters are &position=bottom-left and &theme=dark. Code: <script src="https://anvevoice.app/embed.js?embedId=YOUR_EMBED_ID" async></script>

Add the tag in Custom Code

Custom Code is a site-wide injector built into the Wix dashboard, so nothing has to be installed from the App Market. It works in the Wix Editor and the other Wix editors, which makes the steps the same whichever one built your pages.

  • 1. Open Settings — From your site's dashboard choose Settings in the left menu.
  • 2. Find Custom Code — Click Custom Code in the Development & integrations section. In some dashboards it shows as a Custom Code tab under Advanced; both lead to the same page.
  • 3. Start a snippet — Click + Add Custom Code at the top right and paste the AnveVoice line into the text box.
  • 4. Name it — Type a name you will recognise later, for example AnveVoice voice agent. Wix suggests a recognisable name so you can find and toggle the snippet quickly.
  • 5. Choose pages — Under Add Code to Pages pick All pages. That also covers pages you create later. With All pages selected you can choose to load the code once per visit or on every page the visitor opens; once per visit is enough for AnveVoice because the script ignores duplicate copies anyway.
  • 6. Choose placement — Under Place Code in select Body - end. The tag uses async, so Head also works, but the end of the body keeps it out of the way of Wix's own scripts.
  • 7. Apply and publish — Click Apply, then publish the site from the editor so the live version picks up the change.

Cookie consent and the Code Type setting

Wix labels every new custom code snippet as Essential by default. Essential code loads before a visitor answers your cookie banner and the visitor cannot switch it off. Wix says it is your job to change the category when the snippet is analytics, marketing or functional, because privacy laws such as GDPR expect visitors to be able to decline non-essential items. A voice assistant is a visitor-facing feature rather than strictly essential infrastructure, so decide which category fits your own policy. To change it, open the snippet, click the Code Type tab, pick Essential, Marketing, Analytic or Functional and click Apply. If you pick Functional, the button will wait for the visitor's consent choice, so expect it to appear a moment later on a first visit.

Wix-specific things that catch people out

  • Custom code never runs inside the editor. Wix's developer documentation says it only runs on the published site, so open your live URL, not Preview, to look for the button.
  • Changing your primary domain deletes the snippets. If you assign a different domain to the site, Wix removes all custom code, and you need to add the AnveVoice tag again.
  • Wix does not support third-party snippets. If the button misbehaves, Wix points you to the provider of the code rather than its own support team.
  • Newer security rules apply. Since December 2025 Wix's frontend security measures can block older snippets until their provider updates them. The AnveVoice tag is the current version, so a block would be unusual; if you suspect one, disable other snippets one at a time.
  • Do not put secrets in the box. Custom code is visible in the page source. The embed ID is public by design, so it is safe to paste, but never add private API keys beside it.

Check that it works

  • 1. Open the live site — Visit your real domain in a private window so you see what visitors see.
  • 2. Find the button — A round microphone button appears in the bottom-right corner unless you set position=bottom-left.
  • 3. Say something — Click it, allow the microphone (Wix sites on a connected domain are served over HTTPS, which browsers require) and ask about a page on your site.

Common problems on Wix

  • Nothing appears after Apply: you are probably looking at the editor or Preview. Publish and test the live domain.
  • The Add Custom Code button is disabled or the page asks you to upgrade: the site has no paid plan or connected domain yet.
  • The button vanished after a domain change: re-add the snippet; Wix clears them when the primary domain changes.
  • You only want it on some pages: choose Choose specific pages instead of All pages. The load-once option then disappears, which is normal.
