Best Lead Capture Chatbot for Websites (2026)
Six chatbots that turn website visitors into leads, compared on where leads go, qualification logic, handoff and cost. Vendor information checked 2026-10-14.
Best lead capture chatbot for websites: six tools compared
A lead capture chatbot earns its keep when a visitor leaves contact details and a sales person can act on them. Six tools publish what they do for leads: HubSpot, Landbot, Typebot, Elfsight, Olark and Chatra. They differ most in where the lead lands and how much the bot qualifies first. Researched from the sources below on 2026-10-14. AnveVoice is our product. It is left out of the ranked list because it does not fit this use case, and the page says so. Other tools are described from their own websites, checked on 2026-10-14. We do not receive payment from any tool listed.
How we chose
We looked for tools whose own pages describe capturing or qualifying leads, then ranked by how clearly the lead reaches a person or a CRM. AnveVoice is not in the list, for the reason given near the end.
- Where the lead goes (weighted most): CRM or integration support, versus an email notification.
- Qualification: can the bot ask questions and route, not just collect an email address?
- Handoff to a person with context, so the lead is not re-asked everything.
- Cost to run at small scale, with a free tier counted as a plus.
- Honest limits, such as chat caps or features reserved for higher plans.
The shortlist at a glance
Tools are ordered by fit to the criteria above, not by price or popularity. Pricing columns describe how each vendor charges, using the vendor's own pricing page checked on 2026-10-14.

1. HubSpot Live Chat and Chatbots: leads land straight in a free CRM
HubSpot offers a live chat and no-code chatbot builder free with its CRM, no credit card required. Conversations land in a shared inbox tied to contact records, so a lead captured at midnight is a contact with a conversation history by morning. HubSpot says setup takes hours, not days. Paid Service Hub seats begin at $20 per seat a month (shown at $10 under a new-customer discount), with Professional at $100 and Enterprise at $150 per seat. Limitation: the strength is the CRM link, so it pays off if you use HubSpot for contacts; the Customer Agent AI is a Professional-tier feature.
2. Landbot: guided qualification with HubSpot and Salesforce links
Landbot is built for guided lead-qualification chatbots on web and WhatsApp. An AI Copilot drafts flows from a plain description, the bot mixes rules with AI that answers only from your content, and a handoff passes the full context to a human. Native HubSpot and Salesforce integrations carry the lead onward. The free forever plan gives 100 chats a month with no AI chats; Starter is EUR 32 a month billed annually for 500 chats, Professional EUR 80 for 2,500. Limitation: the free plan is web only with one seat, and WhatsApp costs more (EUR 100 a month add-on on Professional).
3. Typebot: open-source flows for forms and lead capture
Typebot lets you draw a conversation as a flow of blocks and embed it as a container, popup or bubble on your site. Its building blocks cover forms and lead capture, and it can connect to OpenAI and other AI providers; being open source, there is no lock-in stated. Free includes unlimited typebots and 200 chats a month; Starter is $39 for 2,000 and Pro $89 for 10,000, monthly billing only. Limitation: it is scripted or AI-assisted rather than a bot that knows your whole site, and there is no voice.
4. Elfsight AI Chatbot Widget: lead capture with human handoff, cheap to start
Elfsight's chatbot widget trains on your files, pages and Q&A entries, then captures leads and can hand off to a human; it also lists booking through Calendly or Cal.com. You paste an embed code into your site. Free gives 50 messages a month; paid plans start at $5 a month billed yearly. Limitation: the pricing page does not spell out chatbot message limits for paid tiers, and the dataset names no CRM integrations for it.
5. Olark AI Website Agent: an agent trained on your site to qualify leads
Olark's AI Website Agent is built by entering your website URL and clicking 'Build Preview'; it trains on the live site and documentation in about a minute. It qualifies leads, engages visitors proactively, and integrates with HubSpot, Salesforce and ActiveCampaign. The Standard plan includes unlimited visitor questions with no token limits or overages. That Standard plan costs $400 a month billed annually and includes one human agent seat; extra agents are $29 each. Limitation: the price is high for small sites, a free trial exists but its length is not stated, and no other channels or voice are mentioned.
6. Chatra: very cheap live chat with a lead chatbot
Chatra is live chat with visitor tracking, triggers and an optional lead-capture chatbot. Its free plan covers one agent and 5 chats a month; Essential is $25 per agent a month billed yearly ($31 monthly) and Pro $33 ($41 monthly). Limitation: the homepage says nothing about AI, and the plans page lists an 'Intelligent chat bot' without saying which plan includes it or what it costs. Treat it as human-first live chat with a scripted bot, and ask before assuming AI.
Where AnveVoice fits
AnveVoice can help a visitor fill the site's own enquiry form by voice, but it is not a lead qualification or CRM tool, and the material we hold describes no scoring or routing. We left it out of the ranked list. If your enquiry form is the lead capture mechanism, it may help more people finish it, but pair it with a tool above if you need qualification.
A lead-capture setup that works
- Ask for one thing first, such as the problem, then the contact detail, instead of a form-like opening.
- Tell the visitor what happens next and when, and make sure someone does it.
- Set a sensible rule for out-of-hours leads so they are answered first thing.
- Review captured leads weekly and cut questions nobody answers.
