Best voice AI for Wix websites: what works with Wix custom code

Wix accepts a voice agent through its Custom Code panel, but only on a published site with a connected domain, which needs a paid Wix plan. How we chose

Wix is a closed editor. You cannot install arbitrary plugins; you can add a third-party app from the Wix App Market or paste a script into Settings, then Custom Code. Wix's own help pages say the code only runs on a published site with a connected domain, and that Wix does not support third-party snippets. We therefore asked a narrower question than on open platforms: does the vendor describe a Wix route, or a generic embed that Wix's Custom Code box can hold? We checked each vendor's own pages on 2026-10-14 and marked anything we could not confirm.

2. ElevenLabs Agents: studio-grade voices in a pasted widget

ElevenLabs describes a web widget that you can add to any website, with 31 configurable agent languages and a text-to-speech model covering 70 or more. If you pay a freelancer to build a branded voice agent for a Wix site, this is a strong foundation, and the voice quality is its main draw. The Free plan includes 15 call minutes, Starter is $6 a month for 75 minutes, and extra minutes are $0.08 (2026-10-14). Limitation: model usage is billed separately, nothing in its docs addresses Wix specifically, and page navigation is something a developer scripts through client tools.

3. Elfsight: a no-code chatbot widget made for site builders

Elfsight sells embeddable widgets, and its AI chatbot widget is trained on files, Q&A and website pages, can take bookings through Calendly or Cal.com, and hands off to a person. The vendor lists Wix, WordPress, Shopify and Squarespace as compatible, and installation is copying an embed code from its dashboard. A free forever plan allows 50 messages a month, and the entry paid plan is $5 a month billed yearly for 5,000 widget views (checked 2026-10-14); its pricing page does not give chatbot-specific limits. Limitation: it is text only, and the page mentions action buttons that open links but not form filling.

4. Botpress: a builder with a Wix guide and a real free tier

Botpress lists CMS embedding guides for Wix, WordPress and Webflow and deploys webchat with a script tag. It is the heaviest tool here, aimed at people who want to design flows and actions, so it suits a Wix site with a technical owner. The Free plan has 100 conversations a month and three AI agents; Plus is $150 a month billed annually for 250 conversations (2026-10-14). Limitation: the voice channel is Enterprise only.

5. Smartsupp: inexpensive chat with a Wix integration

Smartsupp lists Wix among its integrations, alongside Shopify, WordPress, PrestaShop and Magento. Mira, its AI agent, learns from website scraping, FAQs and a product feed and answers in the visitor's language. Its free plan has one operator and 25 conversations a month; Solo is $17 a month, excluding VAT (2026-10-14). Limitation: voice is not mentioned, and the live-chat model assumes a human operator for harder cases.

Wix limits that apply to every option

Custom Code requires a published site and a connected domain, so a site still on the free wixsite.com address cannot use any script-based tool. Connecting a domain is a paid Wix feature. If the Add Custom Code button is disabled, check the plan before you blame the vendor. Wix said that frontend security rules introduced in December 2025 can block older snippets until their provider updates them. If a widget fails to appear, disable other snippets one at a time, and remember Wix points you to the code provider rather than its own support team.

Which should you pick

Choose by channel. If visitors should talk to the site, begin with AnveVoice or build on ElevenLabs. If text chat with bookings is enough, Elfsight is the lowest effort. If you want conversation design and actions, Botpress. Whichever you choose, test on the live domain in a private window, since the editor and preview do not run custom code.
