Add a Voice AI Agent to Instapage
Add the AnveVoice voice agent to Instapage using the builder's HTML/CSS settings or plan-limited Workspace Scripts, with tag-wrapping and live-only testing.
How to add AnveVoice to Instapage landing pages
In Instapage, paste the AnveVoice tag into the page builder's Settings > HTML/CSS tab, in the Footer section, because the JavaScript tab adds its own script wrapper. For many pages at once, Workspace Scripts under Assets applies code workspace-wide, though only some subscriptions include it. Steps checked against the official documentation on 2026-10-14.
At a glance
- Where the code goes: Page builder > Settings > HTML/CSS > Footer (or Assets > Scripts for the workspace)
- Plan limits: Workspace Scripts are only available for some subscriptions; Instapage shows an upgrade prompt otherwise
- Wrapper rule: The JavaScript tab and Scripts & Privacy auto-add script tags; HTML/CSS and Workspace Scripts take full tags
- Testing: Custom code only runs on the published page, not in the editor or preview
Which Instapage field fits a script tag
Instapage's help centre describes several code areas, and they differ in one detail that decides where the AnveVoice tag belongs. The JavaScript setting in the builder sidebar and the Scripts & Privacy slideout wrap whatever you paste in script tags automatically, so a ready-made tag with a src would end up wrapped twice. The HTML/CSS tab, with Head, Body and Footer areas, takes your markup as written, and Instapage's own third-party tracking article tells you to paste provider code there exactly as the provider instructs. So the dependable choice is Settings > HTML/CSS > Footer. For the embed ID, create a free voice bot at app.anvevoice.app. The Free plan requires no card.
- 1. Prepare the tag — Use your ID. Keep the whole script element, since the HTML/CSS tab does not add one for you. Code: <script src="https://anvevoice.app/embed.js?embedId=YOUR_EMBED_ID" async></script>
Method 1: a single page
- 1. Open the page builder — Open the landing page you want in the Instapage builder.
- 2. Go to Settings > HTML/CSS — Open the Settings menu and choose the HTML/CSS tab.
- 3. Paste into Footer — Choose the Footer section and paste the AnveVoice tag.
- 4. Publish — Publish the page. Instapage says custom code only executes on the published page.
Method 2: Workspace Scripts
Workspace Scripts let you apply a snippet to many pages in one go. In the left-hand menu click Assets, then Scripts, and use the Head, Body or Footer area. These areas expect valid syntax, with script tags for JavaScript, so the AnveVoice tag goes in as is. Press Apply before leaving the screen. Above the editor you pick how the script is applied. Option A applies to all past and future pages in the workspace and cannot be turned off per page. Option B leaves it off until a toggle in each page's Scripts & Privacy section is switched on. Option B with C enables it everywhere except pages where you changed the toggle by hand. Instapage also notes that workspace scripts load before builder-level scripts and must be tailored to the Thor rendering engine, which Instapage documents in a migration article. Plan limits are explicit here: Instapage states this feature is only available for some subscriptions and shows an upgrade prompt if yours lacks it. Check the plans page or your account before relying on it. Do not use the Scripts & Privacy slideout for AnveVoice. It is meant for tracking scripts that must wait for consent, and Instapage says code added there with script tags is ignored by the cookie bar.
Check that it works
- 1. Publish and open the live URL — The editor and preview mode do not run the code. Use a private window on the published address.
- 2. Find the button — A round microphone appears bottom-right. Click it, allow microphone access, and ask a question.
- 3. Clear the cache if needed — Instapage suggests clearing the browser cache if an update does not show after publishing.
Common problems
- Tag appears as text on the page: it was pasted into an HTML widget without valid tags, or pasted twice. Use the HTML/CSS tab instead.
- Nothing happens in the editor: custom code never runs there; publish and test live.
- Workspace Scripts missing: your subscription does not include the feature.
- Duplicate tag: you added both page-level and workspace code. Instapage advises making sure code is added only once.
- Support cannot help: Instapage supports the custom-code features in its guides but not third-party scripts.
