AnveVoice

Add a Voice AI Agent to Ecwid (2026 Guide)

Add the AnveVoice voice agent to an Ecwid Instant Site through Advanced website settings → Custom JavaScript code, or to the site that hosts your Ecwid store.

How to add AnveVoice to an Ecwid store

Ecwid is a store you can run on its own Instant Site or embed inside another website. On Instant Site, custom code sits under Website → Advanced website settings → Custom JavaScript code, and Ecwid limits it to the Venture, Business and Unlimited plans. If the store is embedded elsewhere, install the tag on the host site instead. Steps checked against the official documentation on 2026-10-14.

At a glance

  • Where the code goes: Ecwid admin → Website → Advanced website settings → Custom JavaScript code → Add Code (Instant Site)
  • Coding needed: None; one paste, but the field holds at most 4000 characters
  • Plan limits: Instant Site custom code is available on Venture, Business and Unlimited, per Ecwid's help center
  • Time: About 2 minutes

First, which Ecwid setup do you have?

Ecwid works in two ways, and the right place for the AnveVoice tag depends on which you use. Instant Site is the website builder with a built-in store that comes with an Ecwid account. The other pattern is an Ecwid store added to a separate website, which Ecwid's help center says you can do on WordPress, Wix, Weebly, Joomla, Squarespace, custom-built sites and more. If your store lives on Instant Site, follow this page. If it is embedded in another site, the voice button belongs to that website, not to Ecwid: install the tag on the host platform using its own guide, such as the WordPress or Wix pages in this series. Ecwid's store widget does not provide a place to add unrelated scripts.

Plan requirement for Instant Site custom code

Ecwid's article "Adding custom code to Instant Site" carries a plan availability line: Venture, Business, Unlimited. The free tier does not appear on that line, so custom code on Instant Site should be treated as unavailable there. Check the plan label in your admin before you begin; if the Add Code buttons are missing, that is the reason. Ecwid lists the same article under advanced Instant Site customisation, alongside CSS and custom sections. It sits behind a paid-plan label rather than being part of the basic editor.

  • 1. Prepare your tag — The single line below is what you will paste. Replace YOUR_EMBED_ID with the ID from app.anvevoice.app. Optional extras: &position=bottom-left, &theme=dark. Code: <script src="https://anvevoice.app/embed.js?embedId=YOUR_EMBED_ID" async></script>

Add the tag to the body of Instant Site

Ecwid says that, in general, JavaScript implemented in the site body is better for page speed, and that header placement is for cases like domain ownership verification. A voice agent is a normal script, so the body field fits. Ecwid also allows adding custom code to the header under SEO settings → Header meta tags and site verification. That field is intended for verification tags and similar items. Use the body field for AnveVoice.

  • 1. Open the Website screen — From your Ecwid admin go to Website. Ecwid also lists Overview → Manage Instant Site as an alternative route.
  • 2. Scroll to Advanced website settings — Find the section titled Advanced website settings and the entry Custom JavaScript code.
  • 3. Click Add Code — In the field that appears, paste the AnveVoice script line. The field accepts at most 4000 characters, which is far more than this one line needs.
  • 4. Save and refresh — Save the changes, then refresh your Instant Site in the browser to see the result. Ecwid notes that the code content appears at the bottom of the body, which for a floating button is fine.

One page only: a custom code section

If you want the voice agent on a single page, Ecwid supports a dedicated section: open Website → Edit Site, choose the page from the Page dropdown, click Add Section, scroll to Advanced Solutions, choose Embed & Custom Code and click Add Custom Code Section. Paste the tag, drag the section where you want it, and press Publish in the top right. Ecwid says these sections are not supported on the legacy version of Instant Site. A page section is visible in the editor list, which makes it easy to remove later, but the site-wide body field is simpler for a voice agent.

Check that it works

  • 1. Open the public Instant Site address — Use a private window. Ecwid's editor is for editing, not for judging live script behaviour.
  • 2. Find and test the button — Wait a moment for the script, then click the bottom-right microphone, allow access and ask something about shipping or products.
  • 3. Try a product page — Because the code is in the site body settings, it should appear on every Instant Site page; check a second page to be sure.

Common problems on Ecwid

  • No Add Code button: your plan is below Venture, or the site uses the legacy Instant Site version. Check the plan availability note.
  • Embedded store, no button: the store sits inside another website. Install the AnveVoice tag on that site.
  • Not appearing after saving: refresh, then hard-refresh. Ecwid tells you to refresh the Instant Site page to see changes.
  • Wrong field: header meta tags are for verification codes, and sections are for one page. For a site-wide voice button use the Custom JavaScript code field.
  • Two buttons: the tag exists in both the body field and a custom code section. Remove one.
