AnveVoice on GoDaddy Websites + Marketing: Limits
Whether you can add the AnveVoice voice agent to a GoDaddy Websites + Marketing site: what GoDaddy's help says about custom code and the reliable alternative.
Can you add AnveVoice to a GoDaddy website?
GoDaddy's Websites + Marketing builder only accepts custom code inside an HTML section on a page, and GoDaddy's own help says you cannot apply site-wide code that way. AnveVoice needs a site-wide script, so on this builder it is unreliable; GoDaddy's WordPress hosting is the dependable route. Researched from the sources below on 2026-10-14.
At a glance
- Where code can go: A custom HTML section placed on a page (per page, not site-wide)
- Site-wide header or footer code: Not offered; GoDaddy's help says site-wide code cannot be applied
- Recommended by GoDaddy for more control: Managed WordPress hosting
- Our verdict: Not a supported install on Websites + Marketing; use WordPress hosting or link to an AnveVoice page elsewhere
The short answer
GoDaddy sells several things under one name: domains, Managed WordPress hosting, and a drag-and-drop product called Websites + Marketing. This guide is about the builder. GoDaddy's help article on adding HTML or custom code explains that you can add custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript to a section of your website, but that you will not be able to apply site-wide or more complex code. It also warns that embedded code can affect how your whole site functions, and recommends the feature only if you are comfortable with code or have code supplied by another site. AnveVoice installs as a single script tag meant to load on every page and draw a floating microphone button. That is exactly the kind of site-wide script GoDaddy's builder says it does not support. We have not verified that the button renders correctly from a section, so we do not list this builder as a supported install. Be wary of any guide that claims otherwise without showing the result.
What GoDaddy's builder does allow
If you decide to experiment, this is the only documented place for a script. Treat it as an experiment: repeat the steps on every page that should have the agent, and be ready to remove it if the page behaves oddly. For reference, the tag you would paste is below.
- 1. Open your site — In your GoDaddy account open Websites + Marketing and choose Edit Website.
- 2. Go to the right page — Navigate to the page where you want the code.
- 3. Add an HTML section — Add a section, search for HTML, and add it. The section has a Custom Code field.
- 4. Paste your code — Paste the code into Custom Code and check the result in Preview. GoDaddy cautions that a section height of zero pixels removes it, so keep a visible height while testing.
- 5. Publish — Publish the site and check the live page.
The reliable alternatives
- Use GoDaddy Managed WordPress hosting. GoDaddy itself points people who need more control to its WordPress hosting. On WordPress you can add the tag site-wide with a header-and-footer plugin; follow our WordPress guide.
- Link to an AnveVoice page hosted elsewhere. If you cannot move, create a simple page on a platform that supports scripts (for example a free static host) containing your voice agent, and link to it from your GoDaddy navigation or a button.
- Move the website, keep the domain. Your GoDaddy domain can stay at GoDaddy and point to a site built on a platform that allows custom code, such as one of the other builders in this series.
- Ask GoDaddy support. Features change; confirm whether your plan has gained a header or footer code setting before you move anything.
Why we are blunt about this
A voice agent that does not load, or loads on only a couple of pages, creates a worse visitor experience than no agent. Because GoDaddy's published help rules out site-wide code, the responsible advice is to tell you before you spend time trying. If GoDaddy adds a global code setting later, this page will be updated with the menu path.
Pasting the tag if you try the HTML section
- 1. The line to paste — Replace YOUR_EMBED_ID with your ID from app.anvevoice.app. The Free plan is $0 with 50,000 tokens a month and no card. Code: <script src="https://anvevoice.app/embed.js?embedId=YOUR_EMBED_ID" async></script>
Checking whether it worked
- Open the published page in a private window over HTTPS and look for the round microphone in the bottom-right corner.
- Click the button and allow the microphone. If the browser never asks, the page is not on HTTPS or the script did not run.
- Visit another page that has no HTML section. If the button is absent there, the install is per-page only, as GoDaddy describes.
